A native to nowhere, Austin moved to Richmond, Virginia, at the tender age of 18. Fine Arts training at Virgina Commonwealth University honed his skills as an accomplished painter and print maker.
Austin is an accomplished musician and composer, having played with Tom Peloso and The Virginia Sheiks (of Modest Mouse fame), The Fontanas and King Sour.
His latest body of work, The Pop Patriot, is based on three separate ideas combined with his formal painter sensibilities.
The first idea is the influence of American Pop Art in Austin's own work. The second is a connection of personal and publicly sacred images and icons. The third is derived from what the artist considers the definition of Patiotism.

Love this one, but it also scares me.
